Expanding Business Relations
 ITOCHU AUSTRALIA Chemical division handles many various items. Our mission is to improve "Quality of Life" through importing/exporting chemicals and plastics.
Firstly, According to our environmentally-friendly policies, we are importing a variety of specialized and valuable Fine Chemicals mainly from Japan. We are one of the major contributors to the Automotive paints together with Cosmetic Industries. Now we are trying to diversify our existing Fine Chemicals range to cater to a broad spectrum of Australian market.
Secondly, we’re importing Plastics & Rubber not only from Japan but also from S.E Asia, using FTA (Free Trading Agreement) system and making the products more cost competitive to Australian industry. With the new products on board, We believe that we would be able to offer several benefits to local industry including Food Packaging & Mining sector.
Lastly, with plentiful availability of natural resources in Australia, we are exporting inorganic natural resources to Japan, Korea & South East Asia. We are managing solar salt for its use in Chloro-Alkali industry and other inorganic chemicals for Glass and IT Industries.
Project Operation
Now we’re trying to create/develop Inorganic Resources Projects in Australia. The projects will expand ITOCHU’s function in sourcing and supplying mineral resources in the next decades. In both trading & projects areas, Chemical division is greatly supported by sales & marketing experts with extensive knowledge and experience in the chemical industry to serve the needs of the market.
Worldwide Operation
 ITOCHU Corp. Chemicals Division is comprised of 5 departments, Organic Chemicals No.1, Organic Chemicals No.2, Inorganic Chemicals, Plastic and Retail & Plastic Materials, handling a variety of products ranging from basic chemicals to fine, specialty chemicals to offer high quality services for industrial applications and individual consumers. The Division includes 11 subsidiary/affiliate companies in Japan and 19 major joint venture companies throughout the world. The division's 26 representative offices world wide would allow us to develop more business opportunities and new projects. Recently ITOCHU have started a Methanol plant (850KMT/pa) at Brunei.
