Our Social Activities

Surf Life Saving Australia

ITOCHU Australia Ltd last year found friendship with the Elouera Surf Life Saving Club in Sydney's south, in order to support safety on Australia's beaches. Pictured here with the Club President, David Young, ITOCHU Australia's CEO and Managing director, Ryuzo Saito, is officially donating a newly-completed surf boat.

ITOCHU Australia is proud to have supported local beach culture through the endeavours of Surf Live Saving Australia, in their 100th-anniversary year in 2006.

ITOCHU Australia's social contributions also include our group companies. One of our group companies, ITOCHU Minerals & Energy of Australia Pty Ltd (IMEA), every year contributes to the local community in Western Australia, where the company's iron ore operations are carried out.

Victorian Bushfire Appel

In February 2009, in order to assist the individuals and communities affected by the recent devastating bushfires in Victoria, ITOCHU Australia Ltd today made a joint donation of A$100,000 to The Australian Red Cross 2009 Victorian Bushfire Fund, on behalf of ITOCHU Corporation, ITOCHU Australia Ltd, and other ITOCHU companies in Australia. In addition, staff voluntary donations were also matched by the company.
