ITOCHU has Energy representatives in 20 offices in energy-active regions across the globe. It has 4 main trading centers, located in Singapore, Tokyo, London, and USA covering 24 hours of the market of Crude Oil, LPG, Naphtha, Middle Distillates, and Fuel Oil. Singapore and Tokyo trading center covers Far East and Middle East market, London trading center covering Europe and Africa, and USA market covering North America, Central America, South America and Canada.

Together with ITOCHU Oil Exploration Co. Ltd, ITOCHU Oil Terminal Co. Ltd, and TOCHU Petroleum Co (S) Pte Ltd, ITOCHU Australia can, through our sound energy trading knowledge and experience, provide internationally a wide range of business opportunities in the Energy industry.

Business Development

ITOCHU is a JV　partner of　Cliff Head project (WA-31-L, WA-286-P) and Basker-Manta-Gummy Project (VIC/L26,L27,L28) in oil & gas upstream business. ITOCHU Minerals & Energy of Australia Pty Ltd (IMEA) is an active body for exploration and production of energy in Australia.

In addition, ITOCHU is involved in various development projects for natural gas, which is one of the environmentally-friendly fuels. One such example is our investment in LNG projects in the Middle East, LNG trading business and LNG transportation business around the world. We, ITOCHU Australia, are active in establishing LNG-related value chains in the Oceania region.

Besides LNG, ITOCHU is keen to develop uranium mines and also is actively involved in uranium trading. As for our activities in Australia, we are involved in two uranium mining projects, namely Lake Maitland project (WA) and Gawler Craton project (SA). To achieve a low carbon society, nuclear energy is expected to be one of the most realistic solutions, with its established technology. We will work towards a continuous stable supply of uranium.

In addition, we are working to cultivate new businesses in the development and utilization of new environmentally-friendly fuel sources for energy such as dimethyl ether (“DME”) which could be used as a substitute for motor gasoline or diesel fuel as a cleaner fuel, and also for clean power generation.
